国家科技图书文献中心(NSTL)是根据国务院领导的批示于2000年6月12日组建的一个虚拟的科技文献信息服务机构,成员单位包括中国科学院文献情报中心、工程技术图书馆(中国科学技术信息研究所、机械工业信息研究院、冶金工业信息标准研究院、中国化工信息中心)、中国农业科学院图书馆、中国医学科学院图书馆。网上共建单位包括中国标准化研究院和中国计量科学研究院。中心设办公室,负责科技文献信息资源共建共享工作的组织、协调与管理。

Determining structure and function of protein molecules is a cornerstone of many aspects of modern biology and medicine. The main focus of our lab is to develop bioinformatics algorithms to predict 3-dimensional structures of protein molecules from amino acid sequences and then deduce the biological functions based on the sequence-to-structure-to-function paradigm. We are also working on the modeling of ligand-protein and protein-protein interactions. We are especially interested in the structures of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) and the interactions with the associated ligands with the purpose of developing new drugs to regulate these interactions.

Wei Chen
The recent introduction of massively parallel sequencing technology has revolutionized genomic research. These so-called next generation sequencing platforms, such as Roche/454, Illumina/solexa and ABI/Solid system can sequence DNA orders of magnitude faster and at much lower cost than conventional Sanger method. With their incredible sequencing capacity, in additional to genomic DNA sequencing, a variety of functional genomic assays based on this new generation of sequencers have been developed and implemented in our lab, ranging from targeted mutation screening by combining next-gen sequencing technology with sequence capture methods, high throughput characterization of chromosome translocation breakpoints, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq and small RNA sequencing.
MiRNAs are small non-coding RNAs that control the expression of target genes at the posttranscriptional level. Recently, more and more miRNAs have been implicated in a variety of biological processes. Whereas many attention has been focus on finding the target genes regulated by miRNAs, little is known about the system which regulates miRNA expression. Together with our collaborators, we are establishing methods to study both transcriptional and posttranscriptional regulation of miRNA genes.

刘小乐 博士:美国哈佛大学副教授
刘小乐博士工作侧重于基因调控机制的生物信息和计算生物学研究。她的科研组通过整合全基因组 ChIP-chip/Seq, 核小体定位, 组蛋白修饰, 基因表达谱, 基因组序列等数据, 构建转录与表观遗传调控的计算和统计模型。她已发表了70篇文章, 其中19篇是Nature/Cell 系列,担任19家期刊和3个国际会议的审稿人, 并且先后担任 Genomics, Annals of Applied Statistics, Biostatistics, 和 BMC Bioinformatics 的编委。刘小乐博士2002 年成为高等教育年鉴的封面人物, 获得了"Bioinformatics Whiz"和"rising star"的美誉, 2005 年获得 Claudia Adams Barr 创新基础癌症研究奖, 2006 年获得国防部前列腺癌研究计划新人奖, 2008 年获得 Sloan 基金会研究奖金。

复旦大学发育生物学研究所
发育生物学研究是在谈家桢先生的倡导和国家、上海市及学校支持下,由美国休斯医学研究院研究成员、耶鲁大学终身教授许田博士,休斯医学研究院研究员、科罗拉多大学终身教授韩珉博士,杜克大学终身教授庄原博士与国内年轻学者共同创建的。研究所 2002年初开始工作以来,围绕通过前沿研究培养一流创新人才的工作中心,注重生物科技新方法的研发,利用小鼠、大鼠、果蝇、线虫等模式生物进行发育和遗传、疾病模型和机理研究。作为学校改革和创新的试点,研究所按照国际学术中心模式运行,探索并发展有效的科研和教学机制。 研究所是我国重要的发育遗传学和生物医学研究和教学基地之一,现有高级职称研究人员10名,其他教职员工150余名,作为首席和依托单位承担 973、863和自然科学基金等各类项目20余个。研究所首创的哺乳动物PB转座子系统为大规模研究哺乳动物基因功能提供了新方法,是我国生命科学研究近年取得的重大成果之一。以此为基础,研究所正在国家和地方支持下进行大规模小鼠基因诱变和功能筛选,成功培育突变小鼠数千例。研究所利用突变动物展开了肿瘤发生与转移、神经发育与退行性疾病、肌肉发育与代谢、不育、自身免疫机理、糖尿病和肥胖等多项疾病机理研究,有关成果已在《Cell》、《Neuron》、《Immunity》、《Developmental Cell》、《PNAS》、《Development》、《JBC》等国际著名学术杂志发表,并获得中国高等学校十大科技进展和上海市自然科学一等奖等荣誉。 研究所建立了一套与国际接轨的人才培养体制。研究所注意控制师生比例,保证学生接受教师指导的时间,并要求导师根据科研需要和学生的具体情况为其安排独立课题,方便他们接受完整的科研训练。研究所引进开设了遗传分析、生化和分子细胞生物学、肿瘤生物学、发育生物学、科学道德和伦理等课程,并通过频繁的国际国内学术交流,每周例会和书报讨论等学术活动开阔视野,激发学生对科学的兴趣。几年来,研究所培养了一支勇于创新、勤于探索的研究生队伍,获得了中国青少年科技创新奖、全国和上海优秀博士论文、复旦大学校长奖、谈家桢生命科学九源特等奖学金等荣誉。 研究所工作得到了各级领导的支持和国内外同行的高度认可。习近平、陈至立、万钢、周济等同志均曾来所指导工作。包括美国科学院院长、遗传学会会长、休斯医学研究院首席科学家、6位诺贝尔奖得主在内的百余位国际一流学者曾专程来访,多个国内外一流实验室与研究所建立了合作关系。研究所成员多次应邀在国际遗传学大会、美国细胞生物学会、遗传学会、肾脏病学会、亚洲突变小鼠资源联合会年会等国际会议作学术报告,并担任《Cell》等8家学术杂志编委,为我国生命科学赢取了国际声誉。

Established in August 2002, the shanghai center for bioinformation Technology (SCBIT) is a non-profit organization engaged in research and development of bioinformation technology under the administration of the Science Technology Commission of shanghai Municipality. SCBIT is the first enterprise in China to take promoting our country’s bioinformation data sharing as a goal, totally engaged in life science database construction, and bioinformation software development. Our mission is to promote the advancement of Life Sciences, biotechnology and the Biopharmaceutical industry in Shanghai as well as nationwide.
Our responsibilities include but not limited to:
---conducting original research in bioinformatics;
---building bioinformatics platforms with latest technologies;
---developing national standards for bioinformatics databases;
---collecting and managing bioinformation resources;
---training in the area of computational biology.
Established for six years, the center built and developed database system and technical standard, established a platform about Bioinformation resources. Under the support of S&T commission of Shanghai Municipality, the center established bioinformation resource sharing system, technical support system, as well as large cooperation channel in home and abroad. The center has strong bioinformation data excavation and technology development ability, and established training base. It provides highly effective and fast bioinformatics resource, technical service and important influence to make contribution to promote our country’s social economical sustainable development.

The Bioinformatics Centre
In the Bioinformatics Centre we conduct basic research in bioinformatics using mostly probabilisticmodels and comparative methods for computational analysis of non-codingRNA, gene regulation and protein structure. We are in charge of thetwo-year Master's program in Bioinformatics.
History
The Centre was established as an independent centre under the Facuty of Science in March 2002 to start bioinformatics research and education at the University. In september the first students started in the two-year master's program. In 2006 the Centre became part of the Department of Molecular Biology, which later became Department of Biology, in which it constitutes one of the biggest research groups. The Centre is also closely affiliated with BRIC , which hosts almost half the group. The Centre is headed by professor Anders Krogh and the activities are mainly funded by external grants mainly from the Novo Nordisk Foundation and the national research councils.
Education
We offer a two-year interdisciplinary master's program in bioinformatics. Each year we have accepted around 10 students in the program, roughly half of them Danish. All courses are taught in English. More information can be found through the links in the left menu.
Research
The Centre has subgroups working in non-coding RNA, gene regulation and protein structure prediction. We specialize in probabilistic models and machine learning. We collaborate with many experimental groups in the Department, at BRIC and at other institutions around the world.
